Education and Professional Experience
Sharad Vadehra is a highly accomplished professional with a diverse background in chemistry, law, and intellectual property. He holds a B.Sc (Hons) and M.Sc with a specialization in Chemistry, as well as an LLB degree from the University of Delhi. Additionally, he has a Diploma in Rubber and Rubber related Chemicals.
Mr. Vadehra is an advocate and a registered Patent and Trademark Attorney, known for his expertise in the field of intellectual property. He has a remarkable career spanning over three decades, during which he has held various key positions and made significant contributions.
His professional experience includes working as a Manager in the Research and Development Department of a leading Indian pharmaceutical company. He has also served as the head of the Patent Department and as a Senior Patent Attorney and Consultant at prominent Patent Law firms in New Delhi, such as Remfry and Sagar. In these roles, he has specialized in handling Chemical, Pharmaceutical, Mechanical, and Electronic Patents, as well as the filing and prosecution of trademark applications in India. Mr. Vadehra has extensive experience in handling domestic and international companies and research institutions, and he has been involved in the prosecution of over eight thousand Patent applications.
Currently, Mr. Vadehra is the Managing Partner of Kan and Krishme. He also heads the Intellectual Property Litigation department, which consists of experienced litigators. His extensive experience, technical background, and legal qualifications make him a highly respected and sought-after professional in the field of Intellectual Property Law.
Membership and Specialization
As a senior Patent Attorney with a technical background and legal qualifications, Mr. Vadehra is widely recognized for his expertise in Intellectual Property Law. He has been sought after by Fortune 500 companies for his advice on matters related to Intellectual Property, Media, Entertainment, Sweepstakes, and Promotions. He has authored the book “Indian Patents Law and Practice,” which has been published in the Japanese language in Japan, further highlighting his knowledge and authority in the field.
Mr. Vadehra is an active member of various professional organizations, including FICPI, GALA, APAA, AIPLA, AIPPI, LES, INTA, and CII. He has held leadership roles in some of these organizations, serving as the Founder member and President of FICPI India Group, Vice President of GALA Asia Pacific region, and Vice-President of APAA India Group.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Mr. Vadehra has shared his expertise through presentations on Intellectual Property Laws and practices in numerous institutions and corporate bodies, both in India and overseas. He has also published articles and contributed to publications, including those by Managing IP and Emerald Insight.
