Aakriti Vadehra of Kan and Krishme Speaks at the AIPPI Young Members Summit 2025
Kan and Krishme is proud to announce that Aakriti Vadehra, Partner at the firm, was invited to speak at the Young AIPPI Members Summit 2025, held virtually on July 9, 2025.
Aakriti addressed a global audience of early-career IP professionals in the Global Session, presenting on the topic: “Standard Essential Patents in the Indian Subcontinent: Challenges, Gaps, and the Way Forward.”
Her presentation offered deep insights into the evolving legal, regulatory, and policy landscape of Standard Essential Patents (SEPs) in India and neighboring jurisdictions, including Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nepal, Myanmar, Bhutan, and the Maldives. Drawing from her practice, Aakriti highlighted the region’s potential and roadblocks in aligning with global SEP frameworks, particularly around FRAND (Fair, Reasonable, and Non-Discriminatory) licensing, enforcement challenges, and antitrust intersections.
The event, organized by AIPPI’s Young Members Forum, brought together emerging IP leaders and practitioners from around the world for a day of collaborative dialogue on future-facing IP issues. Aakriti’s participation not only reflects her thought leadership in the field but also reinforces Kan and Krishme’s continued commitment to shaping the IP ecosystem across South Asia.
